Happy New Year! As you may already know, the transition of one year to the next can often be a time of reflection for many people. 

Here at APEXA, there are many accomplishments from the previous year of which we are proud of and we know there are many more exciting moments to come. Therefore, as we kick off this new year, I’d like to share with you that APEXA, as we know it has seen consistent, continued growth and is moving to a next phase with all our partners. It is no longer in the “project” phase. It is larger than a project, it is its own entity which is rapidly coming to life and I am very proud to see that happen. In addition to bringing together insurers, MGAs and brokers with a common goal, APEXA is standardizing communication and working with thought leaders and experts in the industry.

The 11th month of the year has now come to a close, and it has proven to be bittersweet. November brought with it the bitter cold of an early winter but also delivered the sweet support of existing partners and new alliances for the APEXA project’s future growth. As expected, the month of October was a quiet one, in preparation for the busier months to come. A lot of the work around the APEXA project that took place last month was “behind the scenes”. As we continued to work closely with the provincial regulators and MGAs regarding the future implementation of the APEXA system, a chunk of our efforts were centered on the development of the IT system requirements. The IT system standards and requirements are now complete and have been reviewed with current Carriers. While there may be other industry services that seem similar in nature, what sets us apart is not only the transparent nature of our culture but the fact that we are an industry-led solution, working closely with our nation’s stakeholders including Canada's Provincial regulators.

[Newsletter] - APEXA June/July 2014

This is the third in our monthly series of communications where we update you on the progress of our industry project. May and June were very busy months with many internal joint project meetings and also several industry events. The Working Groups and the Project Leadership Steering Committee did an awesome amount of work at two all day workshops as well as more than a dozen virtual meetings. The reviews and feedback on the system prototyping were very important milestones as these demonstrated how the system will be built and navigated by users. The sessions included advisor profile management, contracting and administrative tools. Uploading documents and attaching documents were well received as was system tools. Reporting was also discussed. The carriers and MGAs added some very important insights into some subtle activities in contracting processes and also more was learned about sponsored advisors.
