As an advisor, you may already be on APEXA, having been invited by a carrier or MGA, completed the profile setup process and, for some time now, been maintaining your profile data. Or you may only recently have received your first invitation to join APEXA. Regardless, we are happy you’re a part of APEXA, the industry platform for compliance and contracting.
Invitations to join APEXA will be sent to advisors not only when you are new to the platform, but also when a legacy contract is being added to APEXA for the first time. Here’s some best practices for how to handle APEXA invitations when they come your way.
First time joining APEXA
If you do not yet have a profile on APEXA, you will receive an email from notifications@apexa.ca with an invitation to join on behalf of your partner. Follow the path to the left of the email under “Is this your first invitation to join APEXA” by clicking ‘Get Started’ (see purple outline in screenshot below) to register your login credentials and begin the profile setup process.
Existing APEXA users
Given our changing industry, some of your MGA and Carrier partners may have joined APEXA after you completed your initial profile setup. When this happens, you may have a legacy contract that was executed outside of APEXA that now needs to be added to the platform. In this case, you may receive an additional invitation from notifications@apexa.ca to join APEXA on behalf of a partner, even though you already have a profile on the platform. In order to ensure all your partners have visibility into your APEXA profile for important updates such as license renewals, E&O policies, etc., it is important that you take action to link the legacy contract to your profile.
When you receive the email, follow the instructions on the right side under “Already have an APEXA profile” (see blue outline in screenshot below) and select ‘Add My Contracts’ which will bring you to a login screen. Once you enter your credentials, confirm you are logged into the correct profile by selecting ‘Ok’ within the pop-up window, and the legacy contract will be linked to your APEXA profile.
It’s important to note, if you are responsible for more than one profile through a single login, you may need to merge the contracts included in the invitation into your existing profile. If this is the case, make sure to select the correct profile during this process.
Once you have successfully added the contract (and merged if necessary), the party who sent the invitation will have visibility into your profile through the legacy contract.
