Start off strong in 2025 by reviewing your APEXA profile.
The beginning of the new year is an ideal time to review your APEXA profile and ensure all the information is up to date. Consider if you have had any changes in recent months that you have not yet recorded in APEXA such as:
- Has your license renewed? Here’s a video that can assist if you need to add or update your license https://www.apexa.ca/videos?wchannelid=5x8ggqxspv&wmediaid=kzc0bje2qp. *
- Have you had a change of address? Changed or added a phone number?
- Are you still using the same bank and bank accounts
- Have any of the documents filed with APEXA changed such as corporate documents or needs based selling practices?
- Has your E&O coverage changed or renewed? *
- Have you completed a new certification?
- Have you recently earned any CE credits that you want to load into the APEXA CE Tracker?
- Do any of your answers to the sponsorship and/or compliance questions need to be updated?
*While APEXA will notify you when your license or E&O are up for renewal, by staying ahead of profile updates you can ensure your profile is fully compliant at all times.
As a reminder, the CLHIA recommendations in the Advisor Screening Questionnaire state that updates to your information should be made “within ten (10) business days, should there be any change in the information provided or in your ability to legally continue to sell life insurance and/or accident and sickness insurance.” When you make timely updates through APEXA, your latest information will be immediately available to the MGAs and Carriers you work with, ensuring they are aware of your compliance.
The more you stay on top of these updates, the more efficient your annual attestation process will be. Especially now that we have simplified the process for updating the CLHIA Advisor Screening Questionnaire, by keeping your profile and documentation up to date you can breeze through the attestation process. If you’re not up to speed on the changes we made, read our “Tips and Tricks” blog from last November for details. In a nutshell, answers and documentation based on the last time they were updated will be retained and displayed by the system. So, if everything is kept up to date, all you need to do at attestation time is to indicate “no change” and confirm!
Remember that attestation process takes place on the anniversary of your registration with APEXA. Be sure to watch out for an email asking you to complete the process and act promptly to stay compliant!
