This year, we’ve seen a recurring theme across conversations, panels, and regulatory bodies in the insurance and financial services industries: Fairness to consumers. You may read this and think that treating consumers in a fair and reasonable manner is common sense, but earlier this year the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) took an extra step in ensuring consumer protection by drafting The Treating Financial Services Consumers Fairly Guideline. This topic proceeded to garner attention on a national scale, and was discussed at impactful conferences including the Canadian Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (CAILBA) 2018 National Conference as well as the 2018 Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) Compliance and Consumer Complaints Conference.
We are thrilled to announce the release of the APEXA awareness campaign introductory video. This is a key marketing asset driving us through to year-end which introduces APEXA as a solution for advisors and the associated benefits. The video encourages advisors to get involved as we reach closer to our onboarding schedule by subscribing to our A-Lister Mailing List.
APEXA began in 2012 as a conceptual framework for streamlining and standardizing the contracting and compliance functions for Canadian Life and Health Insurance Advisors. Through the commitment of a group of MGA’s and Carriers, APEXA has grown from concept to a solution and now we are launching an industry-wide platform for the Canadian Life Insurance Industry.
The life of a Canadian life insurance advisor can be a busy one. You run your own business, and by translation that means you are the head of marketing, branding, training, communication, client relationships and sales.
Some of the benefits of APEXA include remediating and streamlining a lot of an advisor’s day-to-day work. In addition to running your own business, you are keeping current with the changing markets, economic trends, evolving products and maintaining your advisor educational requirements. To which you can still add record keeping for all your clients and your own licenses, renewals and E&O. Do you have staff? If so, add hiring and people-management to the repertoire of tasks you carry out every day.
